Trans-Canada Airways (TCA) was a Canadian airline that operated from 1937 to 1965. The airline was created by the Canadian government as a subsidiary of Canadian National Railway, with the purpose of providing air services across Canada. During its early years, TCA played a crucial role in the development of air transportation in Canada, connecting remote communities and opening up new routes. TCA also played a significant role in Canada's war effort during World War II, operating transport and supply flights for the Canadian military. In 1965, TCA was renamed Air Canada and became a crown corporation, marking the beginning of a new era in Canadian aviation.
